BMW India announced today that it launched the 530i M Sport edition of the 5-series across India. The car is priced at Rs 59.20 Lakh (ex-showroom India).
BMW has been pro on Make in India for a while now, and that remains constant. The 530i M will be produced locally at the BMW’s Chennai plant and will be BS VI compliant.
Coming to the actual car itself; the 530i M Sport gets the bold and massive signature styling kidney grille which we have come to expect of the Beemers. Distinguishing itself from the regular 5-series, the M Sport packs solid design punch with packages such as Black-high glossy effect, front dynamics boasting of massive air intakes, side cut into angular and sharp demarkations and rear comprising of a diffusor- style criss-cross pattern. The chrome tail pipes too are a touch from a segment from above and adds panache. The M Sport will stand on standard 18-inch alloy wheels as part of the BMW 5-series tool kit.
Needless to say the familiar BMW racing dynamics M logos will be on the sides of the car giving it a sense of distinct feel.
Amongst the interiors, the M Sport Package features sport seats and interior trim aluminium rhombic. There is ample pearl chrome dash in the interiors to make the car look young and sporty.
Performance of the 530i M Sport is powered by a 2- Litre four-cylinder petrol engine which makes max power of 248bhp and 350Nm of Torque. This translates into the fact that the M Sport makes the 0-100 km/hr dash in just about 6.2 seconds.
The 530i M Sport retains a lot of tech and features from the regular 5-series and also borrows heavily from the 7-series. The vehicle key for instance is designed exclusively with M strip. Additionally, the steering too is made out of plush M leather. The M logo is also quite evident around the door handles with blue callipers bearing the M logo.
The 530i M Sport is equipped with top notch tech gizmos for an immersive experience. The M Sport gets BMW’s new Connected drive systems- Multifunctional instrument display, BMW iDrive Touch with handwriting recognition, a 10.25-inch BMW Navigation System Professional with touch functionality, 16 speakers with 600 Watts high-end Surround Sound system from Harman Kardon, BMW Apps, Wireless Apple CarPlay and connectivity through Bluetooth and USB.
BMW has always seen to it that their cars hit the roads with utmost safety equipment out of the line. The M Sport too gets an extended safety feature list. the BMW 5 Series comes with six air bags, Anti- Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Active PDC rear, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Side-impact Protection, Runflat tyres (RFT) with reinforced sidewalls, electronic vehicle immobiliser, crash sensor and integrated emergency spare wheel.
