Land Rover has added one more variant in their Discovery line-up- The Discovery Sport Landmark edition. Launched at INR 53.77 lacs, it looks to bring an air of freshness in the Discovery line-up for the brand.
Well before you can ask are the changes cosmetic or performance enhanced, let me tell you that the Discover Sport just recently had received a complete new generation with new setup, performance and revamp so to expect a new performance enhancer overhaul is too much to ask.
What JLR did do is introduce three new colours to the mix: Narvik Black, Yulong White and Corris Grey to the existing shades. Also, the new edition gets aesthetics revamped with a sportier 18-inch alloy wheels to its appeal. On the inside the Land Rover will sport dark grey aluminium trims on the centre stack and the interior leather upholstery will be completely in black. Features remain unchanged and Land Rover enthusiasts will have to wait for the new age Discover Sport for an updated feature upgrade. Power duties are taken care by the same 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel that makes 180PS of power and 430Nm of torque. And just in case you were wondering, if the terrain response tech from Land Rover is present, we are happy to let you know, that yes it is present.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport Landmark Edition is offered with seven seats but goes up against 5- seaters like the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
We feel that this move while refreshing by JLR might be a way to push those extra miles into their Discovery Sport product life cycle before the grand premier new 2020 Discovery Sport. All said and done, the Landmark edition does have its sporty charm and blends well within the JLR dynamics.
